I...have...NEVER...had such difficulty caricaturing a celebrity. And why was this one so much harder than all the rest?

Oh c'mon. Let's face it. The woman's perfect.

Any distinguishing features she has are so subtle that if you try to exaggerate them, the drawing loses all connection to its subject. Trust me. I now have a sketchbook of attempts that make Gwyneth look like a sexy Barbara Streisand.

Yet I did manage to capture the one thing I felt identified her the most: that look of quiet sadness that she has in so many of her films. No other actress can convey that look that makes any man want to drop what he's doing and make it all better like she can.

Though this is less exaggerated and perhaps more illustrative than most, I feel it's still cartoony enough to be deemed a caricature. And trust me, this is the best Gwyneth Paltrow I can ever do.

Yeah, she's a hard one to do..with no real oddities.

I dunno..makes me kinda appreciate the weird little "flaws" in people that make them easier to recognize. Like Owen Wilson's broken nose.

Totally! I mean, I adore Paltrow. I don't want to draw her homely. But man, I wish she had a mole or buck teeth or something I could focus on! She's pristine!

Whadyaknow? First comment!

I like Gwyneth Paltrow- she was amazing in Great Expectations and Iron Man. I heard her husband gave her all of his Iron Man comics to help her understand her character, Pepper Potts. Oh, and in Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow, her character reminded very fondly of the Fleischer Bros. version of Lois Lane.
