Another highly original Jonny Quest commish for :iconlila89: She wanted JQ dressed in 80's Don Johnson attire, Hardrock in an obnoxious Hawaiian shirt, and Bandit wearing a far more obnoxious 80's piano keys tie! So weird, you gotta love it!

Hardrock? Who the heck is that? I don't remember any such character in the old '60s show. Was he from the relaunch in the 90s that I didn't watch?

Actually, Hardrock was from the '80s New Adventures of Jonny Quest.

"New" adventures. There was some googy relaunch with crude computer generated interludes (that seemed to exist mostly to waste time that would otherwise have to be spent on expensive story animation.) I saw one or two of those but they didn't hold my interest. The one's I remember watching were the original ones from the 1960s. (Many of which I taped when they were shown on a cartoon channel about ten years ago.)

The "real" adventures of Jonny Quest was the 90s version. The 60s and 80s versions are the ones playing now on Boomerang.

The only ones I'm much familiar with were the '60s. In those days, when a bunch of racial stereotypes attacked Johnny, Race pulled out a Colt .45 auto and shot them all. Later he'd use some sort of ray gun and it would only "stun" people. Grrrr. So lame. I think I saw some reruns of the original episodes in which they somehow dubbed in the stun rays -- it was like reading Huck Finn only to discover that there were no slaves in 1845.
