DEAD DUCK UPDATE 8/06/12: Part 3 of Dead Duck: Ain't No Cure For A Summertime Bruise is online now!: [link]
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

$10 COMMISSION DRIVE IS OPEN AGAIN! And this time, I'm upping it from ten to TWENTY SPOTS OPEN!!!

ANYTHING YOU WANT DRAWN IS FAIR GAME!, As usual, here are the rules:

*The first ten people who note me here on DA (or e-mail me at: fourpanelhero@hotmail.com) with a suggestion to draw, AND send me payment for it, will be put on the list and have their request honored.
*For just $10, I will draw anything you request, and will e-mail you a black and white digital file of the artwork. Please be sure to send me a link to some reference images.
*Be sure to give me your e-mail address so I can send you the art when it's done.
*You CAN request more than one character in a single drawing. Just know that it is $10 per character.
*You CAN request more than one drawing.
*Elaborate backgrounds are an extra $10
*Your request will NOT be locked in until I receive payment. Do NOT just write me with a request and assume your spot is saved. It's first pay, first serve. I accept PayPal, and you can access my account at:
fourpanelhero@hotmail.com
*When sending me notification that your payment has been sent to my PayPal, please include your REAL NAME as well as your DA handle, and the name of the cartoon character you've paid me to draw.
*THIS OFFER DOES NOT INCLUDE ORIGINAL ART--JUST DIGITAL FILES! I needed to make that clear since there's been confusion in the past.
*These commissions are only $10 per character--a very good, affordable, reasonable deal. So any requests for me to go back and change a drawing in any way will require an additional $10.
*I DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT I WILL POST YOUR COMMISSION IN MY GALLERY! It's nothing personal. You are more than welcome to post anything I draw for you on your own page. Just be sure to give me credit for the line work (and if it's a drawing of my characters, credit at their creator), and put in a link to my DA page.

NOTE: Because of the larger number of commissions I'm accepting, it may take me a month to complete these. But rest assured, I will get them to you, and I always leave my customers satisfied. So what're you waiting for? Send me those requests before the list gets filled!

The totem pole heads and the Bill Murray-as-gypsy parts are the coolest. I didn't watch as much of Meatballs as I did, say, Stripes, Caddyshack, or Ghostbusters (saw that one six times in theaters back when), but it's a great reference. Nice work.

My favorite quotes about Vlad Tepes, a.k.a. the Impaler:
--"Vlad Tepes wasn't a vampire--just a crazed tyrant who killed people for a hobby."--Beachcomber (in his Cajun accent), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Serpentor
--"Coulda been a whaler, coulda been a tailor, he turned out to be Norman Mailer."--GWAR, "Vlad the Impaler" [link] (with lyrics, even)

If I had five more bucks I'd take that last spot

DD's hissy fit line is quite funny. If only my twin nephews gave that kind of warning, we could have avoided a lot of stink-eye from the other patrons at a local Mexican restaurant one time. JP's line about the evil is also good. It reminds me of a line from Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy, when a computer with a nanny voice telling our crew to dress warmly on this strange planet and don't play with any naughty bug-eyed monsters.

"Camp is very / Entertaining / And they say we'll have some fun if it stops raining"--Allan Sherman, "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" (sung to Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours) (classic!) [link]

That song says it all!

My Grandma and mom have several of his old albums, and I grew up listening to him the same time I became a fan of his musical successor, "Weird Al" Yankovic. There are many of his songs that are rather dated, but that one isn't one of them, not as long as parents still want to get their screaming brats out of their house (and often out of the state) for the summer.

I love this latest part of the comic, especially the expressions/reactions of kid DD, near the end but also all the way through "...world class hissy!?"

Thanks, James! I threw my share of tantrums in my day, so I (literally) drew this from experience!

Well compared to the horrifying brats I've seen at various store, this sort of tantrum seemed tame.

Oh, sending you an email also about the drive closing.

So sexual innuendo and the "F" bomb didn't sink that piece, it was the risk of a faulty artistic association. Ooookaaayy! Good thing you have plenty of other strips.
Myself, I love the concept of "The F***ing Dead," since I'm a fan of metal and horror punk. In fact, this past Sunday, the rockabilly/horror punk masters Nekromantix were in my town, and they do plenty of songs about love, death, loving the dead, and loving among the dead (e.g. "Horny In a Hearse," for when a Cadillac doesn't have enough room in the back for adult fun time with your horror girl).
