It was nice, that's for sure! The only weird thing is that the hotel kept losing power--like, a dozen times in the five days we were there. Fortunately, it only happened in five minute intervals, and usually when we were in bed. But other than that, it was a great hotel!
Yeah, for sure. Oh, and I bought a Stephen Silver sketchbook, and met (and got a commission from) Doug TenNaple, whom you're fans of, right?I'll send you a scan of the commission!
Looks like a good time, Jay! I really liked the non-descript cosplay chick sketch. Oh, and the glowing radioactive tennies in your hotel room, too. Good thing I wasn't there, probably would have guaranteed that riot.
Weird! I hadn't even noticed that my wife's shoes were glowing in that pic! That's what five straight days of walking the con floor will do to your sneakers! You can scarcely imagine the scent that goes with it!
You truly were walking among the gods: Greg Evans (Luann), Bill Amend (Foxtrot), Lynn Johnston (For Better or Worse, another classic I grew up with), various Disney animators, and a trip to the Chuck Jones House of Worship.
My sister-in-law has family in San Diego, and Grandma used to live there with Grandpa back in his Naval Air days. The farthest west I've been, though, is Phoenix. The S.D. weather inspired a Lewis Black joke that's actually SFW, about how the easiest job in S.D. is as the local weather forecaster: "What's the weather gonna be like tomorrow?" "Nice. Back to you."

Good to see you were able to find your way away from the land of milk and honey to tell the lessers of your great escapades
How are you?
