She'll be a part of him for as long as it takes to get to the john. Nice way to break up the heavy mood with some bathroom humor. Of course, topping the expected revelation with one that's even worse is also a neat move.

I've always wondered about offering a bully who helps himself to your lunch a chunk of chocolate that's actually Ex-Lax. Then I'd grin like an evil villain when I offer him some chocolate after that, because nobody f***s with rudeboy's lunch--NOBODY!!!

You are wise to heed the examples of Bill Watterson and Calvin and Hobbes. That's a strip that literally my whole family loves, as shown by the number of C&H books we have. C&H is childhood without the usual Ivory soap treatment given by the newspapers or by other cartoonists.

I think its a step in the right direction the stuff they put out is usually very stylized and on the cartoonish, It would fit your style and the personality of your work well best O luck with it I think nothing but good will come from this venture. I have alot of confidence in your work hell I love the commissions I got from you more then the Alex Ross I used to have and Jim Lee stuff I used to have.

Great news Jay! They seem like a good publisher. I saw their booth at SD comic con and hovered a bit because they had some nice looking stuff. They seem to like cartoonier stuff, which is what appeals to me. Bodie Troll looks to be your best work to date! Go for it! (I wish I had time to do a comic book, I really have the itch to do a creator-owned thing.)

Thanks, Tom! Yeah, Red 5 definitely leans to the cartoony, particularly since their output is primarily all ages material.

Y'know, if I could offer a suggestion--given your tight work schedule, perhaps you could start your own web comic? Something that you would update at your convenience, but would give you an outlet to do your own thing. Then after you have a good size body of work, you could pitch it to companies and see what happens. In the least, you could self publish it and sell it at cons. The high quality of your work sells itself, anyway. Just a thought!

Yeah! I've thought of this before, but I keep pulling away from it for some reason. I agree. I think I'll do that with my comic strip idea. You have something you want to put on the same site so we get double the traffic with half the posts?

I actually may be pulling away from web comics for a bit, just because of the time I'll be dedicated to Bodie and my other regular assignments. I'm going to keep Dead Duck going until July of next year, re-running my old stories, and posting three new ones. After that, I'm not sure how regular the comic will go.
