DEAD DUCK UPDATE 9/19/12: "DEAD DUCK: Ain't No Cure For A Summertime Bruise part 17" is here! [link]

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I just finished and sent out my last batch of commissions, so what say we jump in and do a new drive?
$10 COMMISSION DRIVE IS OPEN AGAIN! ANYTHING YOU WANT DRAWN IS FAIR GAME!, As usual, here are the rules:

*The first ten people who note me here on DA (or e-mail me at: fourpanelhero@hotmail.com) with a suggestion to draw, AND send me payment for it, will be put on the list and have their request honored.
*For just $10, I will draw anything you request, and will e-mail you a black and white digital file of the artwork. Please be sure to send me a link to some reference images.
*Be sure to give me your e-mail address so I can send you the art when it's done.
*You CAN request more than one character in a single drawing. Just know that it is $10 per character.
*You CAN request more than one drawing.
*Elaborate backgrounds are an extra $10
*Your request will NOT be locked in until I receive payment. Do NOT just write me with a request and assume your spot is saved. It's first pay, first serve. I accept PayPal, and you can access my account at:
fourpanelhero@hotmail.com
*When sending me notification that your payment has been sent to my PayPal, please include your REAL NAME as well as your DA handle, and the name of the cartoon character you've paid me to draw.
*THIS OFFER DOES NOT INCLUDE ORIGINAL ART--JUST DIGITAL FILES! I needed to make that clear since there's been confusion in the past.
*These commissions are only $10 per character--a very good, affordable, reasonable deal. So any requests for me to go back and change a drawing in any way will require an additional $10.
*I DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT I WILL POST YOUR COMMISSION IN MY GALLERY! It's nothing personal. You are more than welcome to post anything I draw for you on your own page. Just be sure to give me credit for the line work (and if it's a drawing of my characters, credit at their creator), and put in a link to my DA page.

NOTE: It may take me a month to complete these. But rest assured, I will get them to you, and I always leave my customers satisfied. So what're you waiting for? Send me those requests before the list gets filled!

Thus far, no further, as it pertains to DD's origins--very nice. Kudos to you for referencing the Gary Oldman Dracula, since Gary Oldman is a scary chameleon of an actor who's equally at home playing straight roles as he is playing total nutters. In this age when wussy, sparkly vampires rule pop culture, it's refreshing to reference vampires who get stuff DONE!

Love your Electric Company reference, even though I hardly remember that part you referenced. I watched it when I was a kid back in the Carter administration. I remember Spider-Man and the cool web-slinging SFX they used, as well as Morgan Freeman as the Blue Beetle. I remember the theme song some, and I loved when that one woman would yell, "Hey you GUUUYYYYS!" before that theme (always blew me away, that part). Great work.

Love the Wizard of Oz riff with the red Bub costume, as well as all the puns on Hell (I suppose the NHL's NJ Devils would have been too obvious). I also like how the ruler of Hell wears a Journey t-shirt with those camo pants--a heavy metal band would be another too obvious joke, right?

The Cheryl Ladd joke is just too funny. Just in case Mom wondered why the pages for Thursday night were stuck together. I guess he couldn't get a copy of the issue with the Golden Girls.

Drac's last words might not be dramatic, but they certainly sound genuine. Imagine if other villains in other stories used those words as they met their ends. As far as killing vampires go, check out this country-specific guide to doing so from Cecil Adams' The Straight Dope answer column [link] , one that goes beyond the usual garlic and stakes. Nice touch with the Bub head on the slab.

Thanks! Some readers have tried to predict what's coming next in this story, and while they've been wrong, part of me wonders if I shouldn't have gone in the directions they're suggesting. They've had some good ideas!

I love this latest part of the summer time series, I love Drac's response "whats next? balloon animals?" :P It does seem vampires do have lots of weaknesses, sunlight, garlic, etc.
I also love the last panels trashcan design, don't know why a simple thing like that interests me but it does

Nice one Duckie! We used to have a restaurant down here with a special house salad in a garlic dressing that they would make in the morning and let it marinate all day. It was so potent by nightfall a vampire would likely have exploded within five blocks of the place. Sinus clearing as soon as you hit the door.
